The use of solar power is increasing day by day in all the countries of the world today. The efficiency of solar cells that convert solar energy into usable electricity was relatively low.
But now, scientists have created more powerful solar cells.
The newly discovered solar cell has set a world record for its efficiency. Scientists at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in the United States have developed a new high-performance solar cell. The efficiency of this solar cell is close to 50 percent.
Which was about 20 percent in the previous solar cell. This means that previously solar cells could convert a small portion of the absorbed solar energy into electricity. Now this power will increase several times.
The efficiency of the six newly discovered photo active level (six junctions) solar cells is much higher. The maximum conversion capacity of this solar cell is 48.1%.
The discovery is expected to bring about huge changes in the production of solar power.
