Two years ago, Microsoft sank a data center off the coast of Arkansas as part of a test.
That data center has now been recovered from the ocean floor, and Microsoft researchers are working on how to perform it and how to improve the data center by using this method.
What did Microsoft researchers get out of it?
The first discovery of the researchers was that the failure rate of the special cylinder in which the servers of this data center were located was much lower than that of a normal data center. As a result, it can be said that the test was successful. Since the failure rate of this technology is low, it is expected that under-used data centers will be able to perform more than the normal current used data centers.
